Donna E. Kidd is Honored at

YWCA Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Awards Dinner

The Young Women’s Christian Association of Plainfield / North Plainfield and Lucent Technologies, Inc., 2001 TWIN Host Company, presented the Twenty-second Annual Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Awards Dinner recently at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick Hotel.

Dr. Rudolph J. Frank, Vice President, Optical Networking Group, Systems and Processes, Lucent Technologies, acted as Honorary Chair of the dinner. Nancy Bartulewicz of Carteret, a past TWIN honoree, served as Dinner Chair. Janet G. Davidson, Group President of Lucent’s InterNetworking Systems and Switching Solutions Group, and the Network Operations Software Group, delivered the keynote address.

Seventy-two (72) exceptional women representing 60 companies from throughout central New Jersey were honored. Among them was Donna E. Kidd, a former Chatham resident who is the daughter of Edith Erickson of Chatham.  She currently resides in Berkeley Heights.

Donna E. Kidd is Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer & Municipal Lease Specialist with UnitedTrust (formerly United National Bank) in Bridgewater, NJ. Kidd is the successful relationship manager for 90 commercial loan accounts. She initiated and developed the bank’s Municipal Lease Program, authoring policy manual and generating significant new leads and closed business since program inception. She serves as an essential liaison with Loan Operations, Branch Administration, Community Relations and Compliance departments to facilitate products, system efficiencies and training bank-wide. Kidd has been instrumental in developing lending and compliance forms using advanced information technology.

Donna Kidd is a graduate of New Providence High School. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Thomas A. Edison College, and a Banking for Professionals Diploma in Commercial Lending from the American Institute of Banking. Her many volunteer activities include helping the Girl Scouts, American Diabetes Association and Juvenile Diabetes Association.  She was previously a Board Member and Secretary of the Chatham United Way prior to its dissolution and worked for many years as a Loan officer with The Chatham Trust Company.  She currently is a member of the Robert Morris Associates Young Professionals Group.

The Tribute to Women and Industry Program of Central New Jersey was first presented by the Plainfield YWCA in 1979. Since that time, nearly 1,000 leading businesswomen have been honored through the program.

The mission of Tribute to Women and Industry is to empower women in the workplace: to honor women of achievement in executive, managerial or professional positions, and to honor those companies whose progressive personnel policies have made this achievement possible. The program also strives to expand the career choices and individual potential for women of all ages and from all walks of life; and to provide networking opportunities and career development programs for all.

Each year, central New Jersey companies are invited to nominate women in their employ to receive this prestigious award. While the TWIN award is not competitive, all nominations must be reviewed and approved by a volunteer review and selection committee. After the TWIN awards dinner is over, the YWCA further engages TWIN honorees through TWIN Management Forum (TMF), a networking group of past honorees; and the Career Options Program, which brings career awareness programming to middle and high school students throughout central New Jersey.
